DRAWING WITH TONE - and the Great Masters

These lessons were designed for some of my older pupils, (10 and 11 years), great way to introduce a bit of high brow Renaissance philosophy - with a pencil.   We used an "upside down" technique to remove any reliance on previously learned symbolism and concentrate the mind on tone.  Its a surprisingly good method of drawing for this age group and pupils are generally impressed with their finished work.
